2013: The Year of the Bear.

It’s the 5th Day of a New Year, and the Bear and I are both chipping away at all the schemes we have planned for this year!

These Bears have some Big Plans for 2013.

1. Find new Jobs!

After a few months of working a crazy server schedule at 2 jobs, I’m making plans to leave the restaurant biz and vampire life to get back to a job in Production. It has always been my goal to Develop and Produce, and I am itching to get back to the industry I love.

Bear is in the process of searching for a new job as an illustrator or graphic designer. He has finished designing his own portfolio site, and is now in the process of designing one for the Secret ‘Stache Society.

2. Support the ‘Stache

'Stache

2013 will be a new year to work on my Passion Project – The Secret ‘Stache Society. Most easily distinguished my our handmade wooden mustache necklaces, this society will be an effort to improve our world through the power of positivity.

We are forming a creative community of rational optimists, who will join forces to make fun more functional. Our first mission is to cultivate this community by getting as many ‘stache-mates as we can.

I have worn my mustache necklace everyday since my father made it for me almost 1 year ago. It is a reminder that happiness is not a state to arrive at, but rather a manner of traveling.

If any of this sounds intriguing to you, please take a moment to visit our website.

3. Write the Adventures of Big Bear and Little Bear

Bear and I are in the process of writing a children’s book about our alter egos –

Big Bear and Little Bear.

Our mission for 2013 is to complete the book. The story is underway, and many sketches have already been done. I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. I’m in love with these two bears and the story they have to tell.

4. More Bear Adventures!

It is only appropriate that the year of the Bear be filled with plenty of Bear Adventures.

Like the following…

  • A trip to Yellowstone.
  • A weekend in San Francisco.
  • Beach Camping.
  • Stay overnight at the Monterey Aquarium
  • New York for Bear’s Sister’s Wedding!
  • Disney World with the Hofrichters
  • Rescue a Pup and name him ‘Stache Dash Barkeley The Magificent
  • Participate in a FlashMob
  • Start our own Urban Garden
  • Ride a Hot Air Balloon
  • Go to the Magic Castle
  • Vegas for my Little Sister’s 21st
  • Archery Lessons
  • and many, many more!

5. Break in The Big Bear and Little Bear BOOK OF SURPRISES

Bear Book

This book was one of the Christmas Presents I received from Bear.

(and it’s probably my favorite!)

The First Page Reads:

“The guidelines are easy to follow. We can write a love letter, say hello, draw a picture, start a game, etc… We can do whatever it is our BEAR senses tell us to do, just as long as we A) Keep it positive and B) Keep it from the heart.

Whenever one of us feels like surprising the other with a new addition to the book there will be a blank page welcoming, just waiting to be used up, (until of course, the pages run out, which in that case we will have to begin another book!)

Whenever on of us feels a little down about the less than pleasant situations in our “human” lives, we can open up this book and smile at page after page as it reminds us of how wonderful and special our love is, and to be more “bear-like” because that’s so much more pleasant.”

There have already been 9 additions to this book so far, and I’m sure there are many more to come.

This gift is a reminder of how lucky I am to have found such a wonderful man  bear.

I can only imagine what our lives will look like by the end of this year.

But I do know that no matter what happens, I’ll have this bear by my side.

Just Two Bears.

and that’s really all I need.

Little Bear.
