The Audacity of Leslie Knope.

I love Parks and Recreation.

I’m entirely confident that it is one of the greatest television shows to ever be created. And I thank them for it.

I thank them especially for the The Audacity of Leslie Knope.

my hero.
my hero.

This article was written as Leslie Knope’s account of winning the presidency (hypothetically, of course).

These insights included a scheme to host an breakfast symposium to kick off her presidency. At which everyone would eat waffles and discuss the future.

Since most of the people at this symposium would be men, Leslie would have Beyonce perform “Run the World (Girls)” while they stood next to a giant lion, like in the video, “just so they’d all remember who’s boss.”

can't not knope.

The rest of the article is poignant, thoughtful, and downright inspiring.

This women is so lovely and brilliant.

Plus she loves waffles!

“We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn’t matter, but work is third.” – Leslie Knope

As Bear and I finished tonight’s episode of Parks and Rec, I continue to be inspired by this outstanding and fictional woman. And since the episode was incredible,  we immediately restarted it.

During my subsequent googling,  I came upon Leslie’s letter to her supporters. In which she states “Beyonce Knowles – your music is perfect for thinking, getting psyched up, and make-out sessions. The Big Three. I love you and I really feel like we should be friends.”

I too love Beyonce. And waffles.

I want to live in the land of Knope..

where the three of us can be best friends.
